It defines test configurations, test conditions, test signals, failure criteria, test procedures, test setups and test boards. It is applicable for different transceiver types as classical CAN transceiver and embedded CAN transceiver and for different functionalities as CAN HS-, CAN FD-, CAN PN- and CAN SIC- functionality. This part of IEC 62885 is applicable for measurements of battery-related items of surface cleaning appliances within the scope of IEC SC 59F Surface cleaning appliances which are operated by rechargeable batteries. These include, but not limited to, dry vacuum cleaners, wet cleaning appliances, cleaning robots, above-the-floor cleaning appliances and similar devices for household or equivalent use.
In addition, this standard covers the measurement of the energy consumption of associated docking stations and service stations. Such stations could perform multiple functions, like battery charging, dust bin emptying, mop cleaning, mop drying, and other maintenance or regeneration operations necessary to restore the appliance to full operational readiness.
Where, in practical operation, battery charging and docking/service station functions occur simultaneously, both contributions to total energy consumption could be considered within the same measurement framework. The methodology enables the determination of:
– Energy delivered to the battery for the defined cleaning task;
– Energy consumed by the docking/service station during associated maintenance functions.
This integrated measurement approach provides a comprehensive assessment of total energy demand during the complete cleaning and maintenance cycle, regardless of the appliance category, and is intended to be applied across all battery‑operated surface‑cleaning appliances.
This standard does not cover appliances operated by non-rechargeable batteries and professional, commercial and outdoor cleaning products.
NOTE 1 Measurements of the performance of battery-operated surface cleaning appliances can be found in other parts of the IEC 62885 series, under the general title Surface cleaning appliances.
The purpose of this document is to specify essential battery-related characteristics of battery-operated surface cleaning appliances and their related docking/service stations which are of interest to users and to describe methods for measuring these characteristics.
NOTE 2 Due to the influence of environmental conditions, variations in time, origin of test materials and proficiency of the operator, some of the described test methods will give more reliable results when applied for comparative testing of a number of appliances at the same time, in the same laboratory and by the same operator.
NOTE 3 The methods here can be applied with modifications for surface-cleaning product types or technologies not currently covered within the scope.
For safety requirements, reference is made to IEC 60335-1.
This part of IEC 62885 is applicable for material efficiency aspects for mains or battery-operated dry vacuum cleaners, including water filter vacuum cleaners, for household or similar use. This document provides measurement methods to assess reliability of dry vacuum cleaners.
NOTE 1 Methods for the determination of reliability for dry and wet cleaning robots for household or similar use can be found in IEC/ASTM 62886-xx.
NOTE 2 Methods for the determination of reliability of batteries for surface cleaning appliances are described in IEC/ASTM 62885-10.
NOTE 3 The method for the assessment of reliability is based on EN 45552 (General method for the assessment of the durability of energy-related products).
This document is not applicable for surface cleaning appliances for commercial use .
This document is intended to be used for reliability declaration and verification. This document is not intended to be used to assess the durability.
NOTE 4 This document is the basis for potential future work regarding durability.
Product functions related to the safety of surface cleaning appliances for household or similar use are out of the scope of this document.
1.1 This document specifies the requirements for materials, design, manufacture, testing inspection, safety equipment configuration and documentation (including instructions for first operation), for commonly-used types of gas-loaded accumulators and pressure vessels used to provide additional gas capacity for fluid power applications (see 1.2).
1.2 This document applies to the following types of components, defined as the pressure-containing envelope of gas-loaded accumulators:
— bladder type;
— diaphragm type;
— piston type;
— transfer type;
— pressure vessels used to provide additional gas capacity.
They consist of one or several parts joined together by a variety of mechanical means and by welding.
1.3 This document applies to gas-loaded accumulators which operate with the following conditions:
— subject to an internal gauge pressure greater than 0,5 bar;
— working temperature not lower than –50 °C and not higher than +200 °C;
— containing all liquids and gases as defined in the European Legislation on Pressure Equipment, see Note.
NOTE When the accumulator contains Group 1 liquids or gases, consideration relating to risks other than those required by the European Legislation on Pressure Equipment are not covered by this document and will be assessed separately.
This part of IEC 60076 applies to power transformers with the exception of certain categories of small and special transformers such as:
– transformers with rated power less than 1 kVA per phase;
– transformers which have no windings with a highest voltage for equipment with a Um higher than 1 000 V;
– instrument transformers;
– traction transformers mounted on rolling stock;
– starting transformers;
– testing transformers;
– welding transformers;
– explosion-proof and mining transformers;
– transformers for deep water (submerged) applications;
– transformers covered by the scope of TC96.
When IEC standards do not exist for such categories of transformers (in particular transformers which have no windings with a highest voltage for equipment with a Um higher than 1 000 V for industrial applications), this part of IEC 60076 may still be applicable either as a whole or in part.
This standard does not address the requirements that would make a transformer suitable for mounting in a position accessible to the general public.
For those categories of power transformers and reactors which have their own IEC standards, this part is applicable to the extent to which it is specifically called up by cross-reference in the other standard. Such standards exist for:
– reactors (IEC 60076-6);
– dry-type transformers (IEC 60076-11);
– self-protected transformers (IEC 60076-13);
– gas-filled power transformers (IEC 60076-15);
– transformers for wind turbine applications (IEC/IEEE 60076-16);
– traction transformers and inductors on board rolling stock (IEC 60310);
– converter transformers for industrial applications (IEC 61378-1);
– converter transformers for HVDC applications (IEC/IEEE 60076-57-129);
– phase-shifting transformers (IEC/IEEE 60076-57-1202);
– voltage regulated distribution transformers (IEC 60076-24).
At several places in this part it is specified or recommended that an 'agreement' should be reached concerning alternative or additional technical solutions or procedures. Such agreement is made between the manufacturer and the customer. The matters should preferably be raised at an early stage and the agreements included in the contract specification.
